A big miss for Delhi
Pant is a miss for any team and more so for the Delhi Capitals. He was the skipper, wicket-keeper and the most important batter for the squad. The franchise needs three different players to fill this role and that makes their job very difficult.
To start with, Delhi has appointed David Warner as the captain of the squad. He is a quality leader and would be the perfect option to replace Pant as the captain. As a wicket-keeper, DC has Sarfaraz Khan behind the stumps. He is a part-time keeper and it needs to be seen if he can do well. Also, in the middle-order, the youngster will be expected to do well against the spinners. Ricky Ponting also revealed that if things do not work out, there is the option of Abishek Porel, too. The U19 cricketer recently signed up for DC as Pant’s replacement. He is also a left-handed batter and would be a decent choice to have in the middle-order.

Rishabh Pant is the face of Delhi Capitals. A few seasons ago, the franchise stuck with him as the skipper although the original skipper Shreyas Iyer returned to the squad.
