Mumbai Indians will have a few issues in the playoffs. The likes of Will Jacks, Corbin Bosch and Ryan Rickelton might have to miss the event. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two players MI is reportedly targeting to replace Will Jacks with for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
1) Charith Asalanka
As per reports, the Mumbai Indians could bring in Sri Lankan left-handed batter Asalanka to the side. He is a quality cricketer, and with Mahela Jayawardene at the helm, it would not be a surprise if he gets one of his countrymen to MI. Asalanka could be slotted at No.3 or he could even play at No.5. For the player, it is a massive chance to make a statement and get a contract for the next season.
2) Jonny Bairstow might replace Will Jacks for IPL 2025
Jonny Bairstow is all set to replace Jacks at MI. In the last edition, Jonny scored a century and yet he did not find a bidder at the Mega Auctions. He was in decent touch at the SA20 League. Hence, there is merit in bringing an experienced player to the setup. It is likely that the player will open the batting for MI.
