Punjab Kings had an English overseas core in the last cycle. They did try a few English players again. However, they ended up signing none. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three English cricketers Punjab Kings targeted in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions but could not sign.
1) Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler was a premier player whom PBKS tried to sign. However, by then, Punjab did not have a core and hence, they could not spend much on him.
Had they signed him, it would have been perfect for the side. His experience would have helped the other youngsters on the side.
2) Harry Brook is one of the English cricketers wanted by Punjab Kings for IPL 2025
Harry Brook is one of the English cricketers the Punjab Kings targeted in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions but could not sign. He was yet another Englishman targeted by PBKS.
The squad needed some middle-order batters and hence, went after him. However, Delhi Capitals decided to get back the cricketer.
3) Will Jacks
At the end of the auctions, Punjab Kings were desperate for a foreign opener. Hence, signing Will Jacks made sense for them.
That said, Mumbai Indians were also equally desperate. Therefore, PBKS could not extend their interest in the all-rounder.
