Death bowling is a key area for teams in the T20 format. While any bowler can do well in the game, there is some analysis that can be done based on what is available on the paper. 1) Royal Challengers Bangalore
Mohammed Siraj has improved his death bowling in recent seasons. However, operating at the Chinnaswamy Stadium could trouble even a top bowler like him.
Both Lockie Ferguson and Alzarri Joseph have not been great while containing runs in the IPL. Yash Dayal lacks confidence and therefore, RCB will have a lot of issues while bowling at the death.
2) Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals has one reliable death pacer in the form of Anrich Nortje. However, there are issues with his fitness and consistency. When it comes to consistency, there are also problems with Mukesh Kumar at the death.
DC does not have spinners who have the skills for the deathovers. The likes of Khaleel Ahmed and Lungi Ngidi are also not popular for their death bowling.
3) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR is one of the teams with the weakest death bowling for IPL 2024. There were other contenders for this spot such as LSG, as well. However, KKR gets ranked here because they do not have proven death bowlers, at least, for the moment.
Mitchell Starc tends to leak runs at the death these days and he has anyway not played much in IPL recently. Harshit Rana is very young while Chetan Sakariya and Andre Russell are not the best at the death. Yes, KKR could bowl spinners but with brute hitters operating at that phase, it could be hard for KKR.
