3 players KKR can sign as the replacement of Mujeeb Ur Rahman for IPL 2024

Mujeeb Ur Rahman will reportedly not get the NOC from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to participate in IPL 2024. His refusal to sign the central contract is seen as one of the reasons why the ACB has taken this decision. It is clear that Kolkata Knight Riders signed the Afghan as the backup for Sunil Narine. Now, they might have to replace the talented spinner. Here, we take a look at three players KKR can sign as the replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman for IPL 2024.

1) Tabraiz Shamsi

It might not be a bad idea to pack as much as variety possible in the spin attack. Anyways, Sunil Narine and Varun CV are similar bowlers and KKR might not need a backup for Narine. Hence, they could invest in a left-arm wrist spinner, a bowling type that KKR does not have right now.

On his day, Shamsi can be dangerous. Especially if the wicket is turning, batters could struggle to read him. Hence, KKR could take a bet on him.

2) Akeal Hosein

Akeal Hosein is one of the players KKR can sign as the replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman for IPL 2024. Anukul Roy is the left-arm spin option for KKR in IPL 2024 squad. However, Anukul has not played a lot of IPL cricket.

It is important to have a good left-arm off-spinner as they play a crucial role in matchups. Akeal Hosein is in good form and deserves a chance. Moreover, he can also add value in the lower order with his bat. Hence, he is on this list.

3) Adil Rashid

A safe option for KKR would be Adil Rashid. While he would add experience to the side, if KKR has to drop Sunil Narine, Rashid will not be a bad option to come in.

Suyash Sharma is a developing cricketer and learning from Adil Rashid could also help the player. Hence, the Englishman could be one of the targeted names.
