3 players RCB might target to replace Josh Hazlewood for IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore released Josh Hazlewood back to the auctions. It is said that Josh will miss the first half of IPL 2024 due to the birth of his child. Hence, this move by RCB seems justified. They do have a lot of options for whom they can target for the next season. Here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB might target to replace Josh Hazlewood for IPL 2024.

1) Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer is one of the players RCB might target to replace Josh Hazlewood for IPL 2024. The England pacer has been released by Mumbai Indians. Therefore, he would be available in the auctions.

Chinnaswamy needs a bowler who can surprise the batters with pace and hit the deck hard. Once the ball flies off the bat, it is hard to stop the batters. In this regard, Jofra would be a suitable option to pair up with Mohammed Siraj at RCB.

2) Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc has played for RCB before. The veteran has announced that he will be available for IPL 2024. Hence, it is likely that RCB would go for the player.

Starc gives value with the new ball and can also do the job at the death. Although he could leak runs in the end overs, this is something that most bowlers would face at Bengaluru and hence, Starc would be a better option due to his experience. Therefore, he is on this list.

3) Gerald Coetzee

If RCB needs a fresh option on whom they can invest for the future, the idea would be to go for Coetzee. He would be value for the investment that RCB will make.

In the middle overs, RCB leaks a lot of runs. Gerald Coetzee could be used as an enforcer in this regard. With him coming after the powerplay, the spinners could also operate under lesser pressure during this phase.
