CM Punk Pays Tribute To John Cena During AEW All In Match Against Samoa Joe

CM Punk gave a shoutout to John Cena and Hulk Hogan during his match against Samoa Joe at the AEW All In pay-per-view in London. Dubbed as the biggest pay-per-view in pro wrestling history, AEW All In is currently taking place at the Wembley Stadium.

As per Tony Khan, AEW has set a record for the highest number of tickets sold by a pro wrestling show for a one-day event. Fans in London have enjoyed he show so far, and one of the matches on the card was for the ‘Real’ World Championship, with the champion CM Punk defending the crown against Samoa Joe.

Over the last two decades, Punk and Joe have had several memorable encounters in the ring. They added one more blockbuster match to the long list. To make the match more memorable, CM Punk gave a shoutout to a couple of pro wrestling legends from WWE, namely John Cena and Hulk Hogan.

When Samoa Joe missed a clothesline on Punk, he lifted him up like John Cena does to his opponents. After putting Joe down, Punk looked at the audience and raised his hand high up in the air, hinting at Cena’s signature move.

What happened between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In?

While Punk retained his ‘Real’ World Championship against Samoa Joe, he did not have a great night backstage at AEW All In. As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, he had a confrontation with Jack Perry. Here’s the report:

“There was a physical confrontation between CM Punk and Jack Perry right before CM Punk went through the curtain. Working on more details.”

According to one side of the story, it’s claimed that Jack Perry approached CM Punk backstage and “stepped in his face” and “bumped” Punk. Punk was said to have then pushed Perry. Perry allegedly “came at Punk and got choked.” it seems like all is not well backstage between Punk and AEW stars.
