Fans on Twitter reacted after English cricketer Moeen Ali comes out of Test retirement and joins the squad for Ashes 2023. They took a jibe at the all-rounder and compared it with his him former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.

Ashes will begin on 16th JuneThe second game is slated to take place on 28th June at Lord’s. The third game of the Ashes 2023 will be played on July 6th in Leeds whereas the last two games are slated to take place on July 19th and July 27th in Manchester and the Oval respectively.

Ahead of the series, the home side suffered a massive blow as Jack Leach was ruled out of the series against Australia. After his injury, there were many reports that ECB have but as per the various reports they have approached Moeen Ali to come out of retirement.

The reports, however, have turned out to be true as Moeen Ali has taken back his retirement from Test cricket and has joined the England squad for the Ashes 2023. He last played for the team in 2021 and since then didn’t play Test cricket. 

Overall he has played 64 Tests and has scored 2,914 Test runs and has 195 wickets. With him being an equal contributor with both bat and ball, it’s fair to say that he’ll be a vital cog in the wheel for England in the Ashes.
