1) Mitchell Santner
Mitchell Santner has actually been in good form for CSK. However, if the team has to maintain the balance, they will have to drop the Kiwi. Theekshana will then be a straightforward replacement for the cricketer.
Santner’s batting abilities would have been useful but it is expected that Theekshana will have a more impacting contribution with the ball. 2) Devon Conway
Devon Conway is one of the players who might be dropped once Maheesh Theekshana is back in the CSK squad for the next game. The Kiwi opener has been inconsistent in the games that he has played so far. Now that Ajinkya Rahane came back to form in style, CSK won’t be bothered much about dropping Conway.
It could also depend on the conditions when CSK drops either Conway or Santner. On a pitch like at the Chepauk, if CSK needs more spinners, they could drop Conway.
