2 players Mumbai Indians should try as Impact Player if they bowl first against CSK

Mumbai Indians suffered a disappointing defeat to RCB in the first game. However, they would now operate at Wankehede Stadium for their next encounter. They would take on arch-rivals CSK on Saturday. MI must be tactically better if they have to leave an impact. Here, we take a look at two players Mumbai Indians should try as Impact Player if they bowl first against CSK.

1) Nehal Wadhera

Not many had heard of Nehal Wadhera and it was surprising to see the player’s name in the team sheet against Mumbai Indians. However, the player showed glimpses of his talent and it was enough to believe that MI would back him for the next games.

Although the cricketer can also bowl wrist-spin, his main ability is to get the big hits. Since MI anyways has Piyush Chawla as the leggie, they could use Nehal only for his batting talent. Therefore, he might come on as the impact player against CSK on Saturday.

2) Vishnu Vinod

Vishnu Vinod is one of the players Mumbai Indians should try as an Impact Player if they bowl first against CSK. If Mumbai Indians lose a few early wickets, the best bet would be to have Vishnu Vinod in the playing XI. He is far more experienced than the other domestic batting options in the squad.

In the first game, Suryakumar Yadav was taken off for the second inning. By this logic, he would not be in the playing XI if MI bowls first. However, if any MI bowler has an injury, they might run the risk of being forced to replace him with a bowler. This could leave SKY out of the match. To avoid it, MI might have SKY in the playing XI and could instead bring Vishnu Vinod as the Impact Player. This would serve the team best in the current context.
