Fact Check: Was Indian Cricket Team removed from Rohit Sharma bio on Twitter?

Rohit Sharma bio is a burning topic at the moment after the Indian white ball vice-captain was not picked in the Indian squad for any of the three formats of the game for the upcoming tour of Australia.

There were talks that Rohit changed his bio on Twitter and removed the Indian Cricket Team from there, but that’s just a rumor as Rohit has done nothing like that.

The controversy started when Mumbai Indians posted a video of Rohit Sharma practicing in the nets just after the Indian squad was announced which triggered a huge debate on social media with fans wondering if he is actually injured or if he has been overlooked for some other reason.

The reason behind Rohit’s exclusion was believed to be a hamstring injury which he sustained while playing in the game against Kings XI Punjab, but if his hamstring was that severely injured that he couldn’t be available for the Australia tour which would start at the end of November, how could he have a net session for Mumbai Indians?

And, it was not that Rohit was having throw-downs, it was a full 45-minute session that Rohit had in the Mumbai nets. The fans, ever since, were speculating a lot of things about Rohit’s exclusion and while a clarification from the cricketer himself has not come yet, one thing is for sure that Rohit has not made any changes in his Twitter bio in recent times.

A Twitter user earlier today shared a screenshot of Rohit’s Twitter profile which was clicked in August itself and even in that screenshot, Rohit Sharma bio is the same as it is today. No changes have been made in the bio at all and whatever is being speculated by the fans regarding his bio is not true.

Fact Check: In this screenshot, one can clearly see that Rohit Sharma has 17 million followers, but Rohit actually currently has 17.6 million followers which shows it’s an old screenshot and was taken in the month of August.

While BCCI didn’t name Rohit in any of the three squads announced for the Australia tour, the board did make it clear on their Twitter account that Rohit’s fitness would be monitored.
