MI could have a tough outing in IPL 2023
MI has not qualified for the playoffs in the last two seasons. Their problems have increased before IPL 2023. While the squad composition anyways lacks balance, the ruling out of Jasprit Bumrah has increased their issues by a distance. MI’s main objective would be to replace Bumrah adequately, while this could disturb the balance in the other areas of the squad.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan will open the batting for the franchise. In IPL, both are not in great form and hence, this combination could get changed if it does not click. It will be interesting to see where MI plays Cameron Green in the batting order. No.3 would be the best spot for the Aussie in this setup. Suryakumar Yadav and Tim David will have to do the bulk of duties in the middle-order. Tilak Verma will come in as the left-handed batter at No.4 or No.5.
In the bowling unit, Jofra Archer will be the leader while one of the foreign pacers would assist him. Arshad Khan, Kumar Karthikeya and Hrithik Shokeen are the other options in the bowling department for Mumbai Indians.
