WWE Royal Rumble 2023 is still a month away, but a rumor has surfaced online claiming that the company is planning a mega match for the show. As always, there will be the two Royal Rumble matches on the show’s card, but there will be three to four matches as well.
A few matches that are rumored to take place on the show are Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship and Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. Also, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar are likely to have the third match of their trilogy on the show.
According to Wrestling News Co, one more feud will likely come to an end at WWE Royal Rumble 2023. The intense rivalry between former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor and WWE Hall of Famer Edge will culminate at Alamodome in Texas.
Rumor has it that WWE is planning a Hell in a Cell match between the two Superstars for the mega show in Texas. Fans should note that the Hell in a Cell premium live event is unlikely to take place in 2023, which is why WWE fans will see the gimmick match on grand premium live events going forward.
The rivalry between Finn Balor and Edge has entertained fans across the world. It started after the Hell in a Cell premium live event of 2022. Balor joined The Judgment Day but kicked out Edge from the group, establishing himself as the new head of the faction.
These two Superstars competed in a ‘I Quit’ match at this year’s Extreme Rules show, where Balor emerged victorious. It seems like the rivalry will end with Edge laughing the last laugh. Hence, there is a plan of a Hell in a Cell match.
Fans on Twitter have mixed reactions to the rumored WWE Royal Rumble 2023 match

Am I the only one that's over edge and the judgement day feuding?? There's so many other people for edge to face that he's not been against yet. Ik that judgement day tried to kill beth and that's not something you can just forgive but my god.

No, I’ve absolutely loved the feud, slow burn storytelling at its finest.
His match with Finn Bálor in the I Quit match was fantastic storytelling.
AdvertisementIf they truly are facing at the Royal Rumble, then that should be the end of their feud, with Edge going over.

Please don’t let The demon lose, I still can’t process Extreme Rules 2021 pic.twitter.com/Za0u6sczB1

So are we done with Judgment Day then?? This doesn’t make much sense :/

The buildup to that should be really fun. The final face-off between Edge and Demon Finn at RAW 30th anniversary, right before the Royal Rumble, could be awesome!
