Indian skipper Rohit Sharma of late has been under a lot of scrutinies for his form. The right-hander was not at his best in T20 World Cup 2022 as he failed miserably and presided for low totals. Following his continuous failures, many questioned his place and were of the opinion that being a senior he should make way for youngsters for the future.
Following India’s exit from World Cup, Rohit took a break and missed the New Zealand tour. In the meantime, he was seen working on his fitness and having quality sessions as well to gear himself up for the Bangladesh tour, where India will play 3 ODIs and 2 Tests.
It’s fair to say when it comes to ODIs, Rohit is a different beast as he consistently has been scoring runs for the team batting at the top. He has broken numerous records including being the only batter in the world who has scored three double-centuries in the ODIs along with having the most centuries in World Cup.
The upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh will be a golden opportunity to leave a mark and remind his critics as why he as rated as one of the best batters. His stats in the ODIs are exceptionally well as in 233 games so far that he has played, the left-hander has amassed 9376 runs at an average of 48.58 and strike rate of 89.18 respectively. Also, he has 29 centuries and 45 half-centuries in those games.
