A world-class traveled and highly talented athlete, Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, better known by his ring name Andrade El Idolo is known to be one of the best luchadors to step inside the squared circle. A third-generation athlete, El Idolo wrestled for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre for the first eight years, working up the ranks in other promotions, and rose to prominence in the WWE with his six-year stint with the company before his departure in 2021.
Andrade’s immense wealth of talent found its new home with the luchador signing with WWE’s rival competitor All Elite Wrestling (AEW) competing in various high-profile showdowns with stars such as Pac and Matt Sydal looking to establish his legacy in the biggest way in the land of All Elite. However, things are not looking too good in regard to Andrade’s relationship with AEW.
What is the meaning behind the latest tweet posted by Andrade El Idolo?

In a recent tweet from his official handle yesterday morning, Andrade kept his message short and simple with the #FreeElIdolo. This could be very much indicative of Andrade’s unhappiness with the promotion and expressing his desire to be let go of his existing contract.
However, the tweet was also accompanied by a video of the former CMLL star gazing toward the ocean ahead of him holding his coffee cup, which could also have a meaning of its own in regard to Andrade’s desire to leave the upstart promotion.
Adding fuel to his tweet was what happened at this week’s edition of AEW Rampage during a backstage segment featuring the Dark Order and Adam Page being confronted by El Idolo and Jose the Assistant. Andrade blamed the Hangman Page to be responsible for 10’s elimination in the Grand Slam Golden Ticket Battle Royale. He went on to challenge 10 to a match next week live on AEW Rampage, being the anniversary of the late Brodie Lee’s last performance in AEW raising the stakes higher than ever.
10 vs Andrade

If Andrade loses, he leaves AEW. 😮😮#AEWRampage pic.twitter.com/J4profr6ZI— 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐕𝐞𝐧 (@WrestlingCovers) October 1, 2022
If Andrade wins, No. 10 will have to unmask himself and give up the mask given to him by Brodie Lee. However, if No 10 scores the win, El Idolo will have to leave AEW forever. It looks like Andrade might have got his wish granted to be released from the company and this could be his way out to depart from Tony Khan’s promotion.
