The South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell has heaped praise on the Indian middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav and has called him the best in the world in the T20 format of the game.
Suryakumar Yadav has recently created the record of scoring the most runs by an Indian batsman in T20Is in a calendar year and has left behind some of the stalwarts of Indian cricket like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Also, the strike rate at which Suryakumar has scored his T20I runs this year has been head and shoulders above the rest.
When Parnell came to address the press ahead of the second T20I against India, he talked about Suryakumar’s ability to play in all areas of the ground. According to Parnell, he has watched Surya play closely in the last couple of months and he genuinely believes that he is among the best in the world now.
It’s only last year that Surya made his T20I debut for India and his debut game was historic in his own way, as he hit Jofra Archer out of the ground on the very first delivery he faced in international cricket. Since his debut game, Surya has never really looked back in his T20I career and has already played many memorable innings for India in a short span of time.
India were in trouble when Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat in the first T20I against South Africa
When Surya came out to bat in the first T20I against South Africa the other night, India was chasing a small total of 100 odd, but they had scored just 17 runs in the powerplay and had already lost the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Wayne Parnell said "Suryakumar Yadav is probably the best T20 batter at the moment".

There was a genuine case of South Africa making a match out of it despite defending a low score, but Suryakumar’s counterattack made sure the game went away from South Africa very quickly.
