Chennai Super Kings had to endure a forgettable season in IPL 2022. However, they are known for comebacks and IPL 2023 will be expected to be a good tournament for them. Nevertheless, some wise signings have to be made to improve the squad. The IPL trading window is close to opening soon and there are a few players the MS Dhoni-led squad can target. Here, we take a look at three players CSK can target for the next IPL season in IPL 2023 trading window.
1) Kartik Tyagi
The youngster is in a team comprising the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Umran Malik in Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hence, opportunities were low for him in IPL 2022. It is likely to be the same for the next season, too.
In this context, CSK can target the cricketer. The franchise has Deepak Chahar and Mukesh Choudhary as the Indian pacers. Both these cricketers are known to do well in the powerplay. However, CSK needs an all-phase Indian pacer. Here is where they can target Kartik Tyagi, who has already proved his credentials at the death.
2) Rassie van der Dussen can be targeted by CSK in IPL 2023 Trading Window

South African batter Rassie van der Dussen is one of the players CSK can target in the IPL 2023 trading window. The player is an excellent player of pace but his game could be vulnerable to spin. CSK will play at the spin assisting conditions at Chepauk but they could still go behind a player like Rassie.
The Rajasthan Royals cricketer’s profile of being a destructive batter in the middle-order is something CSK would need, especially with the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni not being in great form in IPL 2022. Hence, CSK can target the cricketer.
3) KS Bharat
CSK will have to plan for life beyond MS Dhoni. KS Bharat is not getting too many chances at Delhi and a move to Chennai will surely help him. With Robin Uthappa having retired and Ambati Rayudu inconsistent, CSK can target a wicket-keeper batter like Bharat.
While he is a good player of spin, CSK might have to be patient with Bharat’s limitations with his big-hitting. If they can stick with him, they could have a good Indian batter at No.4 or above.
