Although the series against South Africa ended in a draw, at home, India is expected to be dominant in any of the formats. In that campaign, the seniors were rested as they were preparing for the tour of England. However, most of the regulars will be available against Australia. Most importantly, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel would be in the squad.
Australia is the defending T20 World Cup champion. However, India has an edge over the Aussies mainly because barring Ravindra Jadeja, there are not too many injury concerns. Moreover, all the players selected for the Australia series will be more or less playing in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Therefore, in each of the player’s minds, their spot is fixed and they would focus more on their performances. This makes the Indians dangerous and our prediction is that they will win the competition.
A vital tournament for both teams

Although Australia is the defending champion, they will be wary of the challenge at the 2022 T20 WC. They will be playing at home and hence, there will be pressure. The likes of Tim David have been drafted into the squad. Therefore, the management would need time to test the new combination.
On the other hand, after the Asia Cup debacle, India would be keen to set things right. A failure in the 2022 T20 WC will lead to a massive backlash. To avoid that, they must prepare well, starting with the Australia series.
