Former WWE superstar EC3 has expressed his disappointment while recalling WWE’s controversial decision to put the Universal championship belt on Goldberg, after he defeated Bray Wyatt at WWE Super ShowDown 2020.
He had an interview with Wrestling Outlaws recently and discussed how this was the point when he felt WWE’s creativity had died and something had to change somehow. His words from the show:
“And then comes Saudi, and The Fiend had a match with Goldberg, who runs through him real fast. Wrestling is make believe, wins and losses don’t matter, but in that moment creativity really dies for me.”
He also praised Bray Wyatt for creating the Fiend character and for his out of the box creativity with the red light background during his matches. And how he became the champion despite the critics being against him.
Goldberg beat The Fiend at the Saudi show after spearing him four times and finishing him off with a Jackhammer in a short squash match, handing the bizarre character it’s first loss.
Highlights of Goldberg VS The Fiend from #SuperShowdown with the music I was hearing in my head as Goldberg DECIMATED the Fiend and became MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE once more, upsetting seemingly everyone on the internet but me. ONE MORE TITLE RUN!!! #WWE pic.twitter.com/ISgL3zDsoQ

Fans had been vocal on social media about not letting him lose to Goldberg but WWE did it anyway and it led to a lot of criticism. The Hall of Famer cockily replied to all this by saying: “I’m Goldberg”.
A couple of months after the show, EC3 was released from his WWE contract and he went on to create a small time pro wrestling promotion of his own called Control Your Narrative, partnering with free agents at the time, Braun Strowman and Karrion Kross.

When will Bray Wyatt return to WWE?
There is no official update on whether WWE have re-signed Bray Wyatt. Several reports have claimed that the former WWE Champion will return to the company soon.
He was rumored to appear at Clash at the Castle earlier this month. However, his return did not take place in Cardiff.
