The name Malakai Black made the pro wrestling headlines last week after asking to be released by AEW. This came as shocking news after Black seemed content and happy in his stay at All Elite Wrestling, making a switch from WWE back in July 2021 after he was released by the company after weeks of promoting vignettes surrounding his return under a gimmick change with Vince McMahon eventually dropping the plans and let him go.
The House of Black’s status with AEW seems questionable after the events of AEW All Out 2022, where he and his faction members found themselves on the losing end of a power-packed Trios match against Darby Allin, Sting and Miro.
Malakai Black took the pinfall which itself was surprising and indicative of the behind-the-scenes scenario surrounding the Dutchman as other members such as Buddy Matthews would be on the receiving end of a pinfall during the stable’s defeats in matches.

What happened with Malakai Black at AEW All Out 2022?
After the end of the match, a fan in attendance captured a moment that didn’t air on television with Malakai Black breaking character, blowing a kiss goodbye, and taking a bow for the audience right before he and his stablemates Buddy Matthews, Brody King, and Julia Hart headed to the backstage area.

During the post-All Out media scrum, AEW CEO and General Manager Tony Khan was asked about the situation witnessed by the fans in attendance in regard to Malakai Black’s exit from the company. He claimed that he wasn’t sure about the meaning of Black actions and added that he would not be able to comment on it further for the moment.
Dave Meltzer on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio stated that the confirmation of Black’s release from AEW has indeed happened, and he has left the company, he was operating under the presumption that this is the case.
