The former Indian allrounder Ajay Jadeja reckons the only person in the entire cricketing world who can understand what Virat Kohli is going through is Sachin Tendulkar because Tendulkar had a similar career graph to Virat.
Ajay Jadeja, who was talking about the current form of Virat Kohli on Sony Sports Network, said that Tendulkar, just like Virat, made his debut for India at a very young age and he found his feet straightaway at the international level. Both players went through a phase right at the start of their careers where there were rarely any failures for them and they kept on piling runs.
But, then a slight downfall came for Tendulkar, just like it has come for Virat now. So, Tendulkar can fully understand what happens when you set the highest standard for yourself, people start judging you by that standard, and then you fail to meet that standard for a period of time.
Sometimes it’s the responsibility of seniors to reach out to juniors: Ajay Jadeja
Ajay Jadeja insisted that Virat and Tendulkar should have a phone call because Tendulkar is the perfect person to help Virat in this kind of situation. Jadeja is of the view even if Virat is not calling Tendulkar, Tendulkar himself should give Virat a call and talk to him because sometimes it’s the responsibility of the seniors to reach out to the juniors and give them the correct advice when they are going through a bad phase.
Sachin Tendulkar, after he went through a slight downfall, revived his career again in the late 2000s and scored a lot of runs for India in the latter parts of his career, where he won an ODI World Cup for India as well, which was his childhood dream.
The Indian fans would hope that Virat is able to revive his career as well, which currently seems to be on a bit of a downward spiral.
