The Eliminator match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is underway in Kolkata right now, where the Lucknow Super Giants are playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. LSG won the toss and invited the Royal Challengers to have a bat first. The Bangalore-based franchise lost the wicket of Faf du Plessis in the first over, but Rajat Patidar played an excellent knock to save RCB.
The uncapped batter smashed his maiden IPL hundred and destroyed the Lucknow Super Giants bowling attack. Speaking about the match first, RCB did not have the best of the starts as Mohsin Khan dismissed Faf du Plessis caught behind in the opening over of the game.
Virat Kohli scored a 24-ball 25, while Glenn Maxwell aggregated nine runs off 10 deliveries. Before the match started, Maxwell had a chat with the host broadcasters, where he said:
“I love playing here. I played my first IPL game here and have got good memories. We were able to watch the game last night and get some information. Been pretty much bedridden. Geared up for tonight’s match and the guys are excited to go out there. Hopefully, this is the start of a good run for us.”

Even the biggest players in the world have failed to make an impact while playing at the grand stage of the Indian Premier League playoffs, but Rajat Patidar, who went unsold at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, joined RCB as a replacement for Luvnith Sisodia.
Patidar came out to bat in the first over and showed great intent straightaway. By the time the 18th over of the innings ended, Patidar had scored 101 runs off 51 deliveries. He smacked 11 fours and six sixes. Here’s how Twitter reacted to his knock:
