The 30th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where the Kolkata Knight Riders are locking horns with the Rajasthan Royals. Jos Buttler has stolen the show with his second century of the season.
Speaking about the match, the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to field first. He felt that the wicket was great for batting. At the toss, Iyer mentioned that they had brought Shivam Mavi in the playing XI, with Aman Khan losing his place.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson said that they had made three changes to their playing XI. Karun Nair, Obed McCoy and Trent Boult replaced Rassie van der Dussen, Kuldeep Sen and James Neesham. Here’s what Samson had to say during the brief interview at the toss:
“We’d have loved to bowl first as well. It is a different venue and we will like to take our time and set the target. Everyone playing the game has to perform. We have always discussed how to perform in the match. We need everyone to be smarter. Everyone is looking to contribute but failures are also accepted.”
Fans on Twitter go berserk as Jos Buttler smacks another century in IPL 2022
While the other batters are struggling to score fifties with consistency, Rajasthan Royals’ wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler has registered two hundreds in the 2022 IPL season already. Buttler hit a hundred against the Mumbai Indians previously and accomplished the same feat against the Kolkata Knight Riders tonight.
Opening the innings for the Rajasthan Royals, Buttler aggregated 103 runs off just 61 deliveries, whacking nine fours and five sixes. His strike rate was 168. Pat Cummins picked up his wicket as Buttler handed a catch to Varun CV off the Aussie’s bowling. Here’s how fans on Twitter reacted to his century:
