Dinesh Karthik has been a star performer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. He won the Man of the Match award yesterday night for his match-winning half-century against the Delhi Capitals. Karthik came out to bat in a difficult situation and scored 66 runs from just 34 balls to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore enter the Top 3 of the points table.
Karthik batted at number seven, and he came out to bat when the team’s score was 92/5. He had a magnificent partnership of 97 runs for the sixth wicket the team’s uncapped all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed. Fans enjoyed the clean hitting from Karthik in that innings.
In the 18th over of the match bowled by Mustafizur Rahman, Karthik took the Bangladeshi bowler to the cleaners, smashing four fours and two sixes off his bowling. A total of 28 runs came from that over as the Royal Challengers Bangalore inched closer to the 190-run mark.
In the ICC tournaments, fans have noticed that when the top-order of the Indian cricket team collapses, the middle-order batters and the lower-order batters fail to get going resulting in the team’s defeat in crucial matches. So fans want Karthik to return to the team.
