It was a stunning knock that made many take notice of his talent. From that game, the youngster had an interesting incident to recount.

While speaking to Red Bull, the highly-rated youngster said, “the one thing I clearly remember from my IPL century last year was when Virat Kohli was followed by the camera, he was like ‘go to Devdutt, he’s the main man today’. So it was a special day for me”.

DDP can do well if he works on a few aspects

The Kerala-born Karnataka opener has had a decent start to IPL 2022 so far. He has made 114 runs in four games at an average of 28.50. Considering he has played only one game at his usual opening slot, it has been a decent return for the player. However, as the experts have pointed out, there are a number of aspects that he can improve upon.

Padikkal usually struggles against high-end pace and this was visible in IPL 2022, as well. He is an opener and he must get comfortable against pacers. While a few have revealed that he can do better with his intent, DDP also can improve on his strike rotation. He has age on his side and can be a top cricketer if he works hard.
