“Where is Ruturaj”, Twitter Reacts As The Indian Opener Gets Benched For The Second Consecutive Game

The India vs West Indies second T20I encounter is currently happening at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After the win in the first game, India has gone ahead with the same team. Hence, IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad does not find a place in the XI again. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted after Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Indian opener gets benched against West Indies.

The Indian opener gets benched again

Although he was inexperienced, Ruturaj Gaikwad set IPL 2021 on fire with his brilliant performances. He won the Orange Cap in the season, despite being an uncapped player when the tournament started. Ruturaj was one of the main reasons why Chennai Super Kings went on to win the title.

Ruturaj followed it up with exquisite performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was picked for the ODI series against South Africa but did not get a game. However, with KL Rahul not available for the T20I series against West Indies, it was expected that Ruturaj Gaikwad would finally get a chance in the XI. The management, though, selected Ishan Kishan for the first game. Although Ishan got runs in the first encounter, it came at a poor strike rate. Yet, he was selected for the second game again. In the second match, too, Ishan Kishan has failed. Hence, Twitter was disappointed with the selection by the management.

For a player who is in top form at the moment, Ruturaj did deserve a spot in the XI. That said, there is a reason why Ishan Kishan was selected by the management. He is a left-hander and offers an attacking option at the top of the order. With regards to the Indian Team, Ishan Kishan had come in earlier and even he has not got a lot of chances so far. Amidst this, here is a look at how Twitter reacted:
