Gujarat Giants started their PKL 8 journey on a high note with a comfortable 34-27 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers and would have aimed to continue that momentum. However, they failed to do so as they suffered a hard-fought 31-28 defeat against the defending champions Bengal Warriors in their most recent encounter. Rakesh Narwal collected 12 points, but it proved to be insufficient to guide the Giants over the finishing line.
On the other hand, Dabang Delhi KC have lived up to their expectations from the runner-up finish from last season to grabbing two consecutive victories in the PKL 2021. They began their new season with a comprehensive 41-30 victory over Puneri Paltan followed by a close and nail-biting 31-27 win over U Mumba in their previous game. The young Naveen Kumar starred for them in both the games by grabbing 16 and 17 points respectively to help his side achieve success.
