Zidane’s uncertainty about Real Madrid future leaves fans uncomfortable

Zidane

The recently –crowned champions of Spain, Real Madrid is preparing hard for their imminent challenge against a formidable Manchester City coached by an astute Pep Guardiola away from home. It won’t really be an easy battle for the Los Merengues but the Zidane-trained side has proved their competency for a considerable period of time now after the resumption of the game post the hiatus.

However, a veil of precariousness has now slowly been invading Santiago Bernabeu as Zidane dropped a hint of major uncertainty regarding his future as the Real boss. With his recent success that he has savoured with the Spanish stalwarts, Zidane was asked whether he can confirm what’s next for him in the line. He replied, “Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future. I never talk about next season or the following year. I’ve got a contract and I’m happy. You never know what will happen in the future.”

He also continued, “Things can change overnight in the world of football and I have no idea what the future holds.”

Zizou has clearly instructed his team to maintain the rigour and discipline on Sunday when Real crosses swords with Leganes to end the 2019-20 campaign on a positive note.

He also quoted, “We have to find that motivation. It’s a league game. When we put on the Real Madrid shirt, we want to win all the games.”

He continued, “That’s the DNA at Real Madrid. It’s a league game, not a friendly, and we want to play well. I don’t think we’ve got anything to prove. We just want to maintain this positive momentum. We want to keep winning.

We have another big game. We said there were 11 finals. There were 10 and we won the league, but we want to finish in the best way possible.

We want to keep pushing and testing ourselves until the very end of the season. There will be a few days’ rest after the game against Leganes, but the season continues. We will be back training and preparing for City after the game against Leganes.”

Zidane also made it clear that currently, he has no intentions of the Manchester bout disrupting his calculations for Leganes as he would like to take one step at a time. With the red-hot form of Benzema still continuing, Zidane’s goal-scoring options have provided him considerable reliability and that is exactly what keeps on providing hope to Zizou that his wards are capable of turning the tie around with all the odds stacked against them at Etihad.

To make matters worse, City has 2 away goals in their favour and they have a slender lead over the thirteen-time UCL champions. With the return fixture scheduled to be in City’s backyard, Zidane will also need an apt replacement for Sergio Ramos to challenge City’s might as the Spanish defender was given marching orders toward the end of the first leg.

Zidane expressed his appreciations for Benzema, stating,” I’d love for Benzema to get the Pichichi. But I’m not going to say who’s going to play. He’s a player whose done a great job and deserves to end the season as the top goalscorer, but it’s going to go down to the final game of the season. Let’s see what happens on Sunday.”
