Twitter Erupts As CSK Reaches The IPL Finals For The 9th Time In The Tournament History

Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by four wickets in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2021. This way, the squad led by MS Dhoni entered the finals for the 9th occasion in the history of the competition. CSK reaches the IPL finals 

Winning the toss, CSK put Delhi to bat first. Although the DC openers started well, CSK bowlers came back to the game. They picked the wickets of Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan in a short time. DC’s tactic of promoting Axar Patel did not work and in the end, it was Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer who stitched a matured partnership to help the side post a total of 172 runs.

CSK were under pressure early with the wicket of Faf du Plessis. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa shared a crucial partnership that set the game up for the team. However, after Uthappa got out, a series of wickets fell and CSK was under pressure. In the end, MS Dhoni produced a six-ball 18-run knock which helped his team cross the line.

Last season, Chennai Super Kings did not make it to the playoffs. It was the first time that they had not reached the Top 4 in a season that they were competing in. The team was subjected to a lot of criticism and a year later, they have turned the table by becoming the first team to reach the finals. In fact, they were also the first team that had qualified for the playoffs. To top it all, MS Dhoni produced an excellent finish which satisfied the fans as well.
