MS Dhoni Picks The Venue Where He Wants To Play His Final Match In IPL

MS Dhoni is a legendary cricketer in IPL. Last year, he retired from international cricket, but decided to continue playing for CSK. He has now given a major update about his decision after IPL 2021. In this article, we talk about a recent event in which MS Dhoni picks the venue where he wants to play his final match in IPL.

Discussions are on if would MS Dhoni would continue playing

The last few years have not gone well for MS Dhoni in terms of batting form. In some games, he pushed himself lower down the order but in recent games, he has taken responsibility to bat higher up. However, in either of the case, Dhoni has been struggling to make runs.

The mega-auction would take place before IPL 2022. Dhoni is 40-years-old and might not be part of the tournament until the next mega-auction after three more years. Hence, CSK may not afford to retain him, but his brand value is too high, and even if Dhoni plays for one more season, the franchise would incline towards retaining him. All of it would eventually depend on MS Dhoni’s decision.

It seems that the CSK skipper has made up his mind on his playing career of IPL 2021. In a recent online fan-exchange event, Dhoni expressed his desire to play his final IPL game at Chepauk in Chennai.

MS Dhoni said, “When it comes to farewell, you can come and see me play for CSK, you will get the opportunity to bid me farewell. Hopefully we will come there in Chennai and play my last game and meet all the fans”. Hence, this could mean that he might be a part of IPL 2022. Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir and Deepak Chahar were also part of the exchange.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have qualified for the playoffs of IPL 2021. They have lost the last two games but will look to win the upcoming matches to nail down a Top 2 spot.
