On Day 3 of the ongoing test match between England and India at the Lord’s, an embarrassing incident happened. Even the Indian captain Virat Kohli had to react to it. Kohli reacts as soon as the England crowd throws objects at KL Rahul. The objects were said to be wine bottle corks.
The crowd behaviours in England haven’t been great in recent months
It is not the first time that the English crowd has been at the centre of some unruly behaviour. Even in the recently concluded Euros, the England crowd was criticized for booing during the National Anthem of other nations. They have also been accused of hurling a few racist fits of abuse at the players.

As Day 3 started, England got themselves into a comfortable position by scoring runs quickly. Joe Root got to his consecutive century, and the game was neatly poised. However, the crowd added a distasteful flavour to the proceedings.
While India was struggling to pick wickets, one section of the England audience threw a few objects at KL Rahul, who was the centurion in the Indian batting innings. It was KL Rahul’s timely knock that helped India post a decent score of 364 on the board.
Virat Kohli reacts to the incident
The Indian captain is always known to be a personality who gives it back to the viewers. Even when he was troubled in Australia, Virat showed a middle finger and had to endure criticism. He also tries to engage the audience whenever possible, and this has added a layer to the games he has played in the past.
On this occasion, though, Virat was seen signalling KL Rahul to throw back the objects at the crowd. India’s No.4 was visibly angered by the incident as he reacted to it from the slip-cordon. It now needs to be seen if he talks about it in the post-match event.
Virat Kohli signaling to KL Rahul to throw it back to the crowd – Terrible from the crowd to throw some things to the players.
