5 WWE Superstars Who Could Dethrone Roman Reigns After WrestleMania 39

There is only One Superstar that rules over the entire WWE Landscape, rightfully regarded as ‘The One’ of this generation of WWE Superstars, The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

The current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has been a force to be reckoned with for the last two years putting down Superstars of Today and Yesterday in his quest to become the longest reigning champion of the modern era.

After his huge win over Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle, reports have emerged that WWE has no plans for Reigns to drop the titles until at least WrestleMania 39, where he is rumored to face The Rock in a Once in a Lifetime Dream match, with the company wanting this mega blockbuster match to be for the Undisputed Title.

The report also suggested that Roman may lose the titles after WrestleMania giving an opportunity for another Superstar to rise to the occasion and emerge at the top of the mountain. Here are 5 potential WWE Superstars who can be the next Undisputed Champion dethroning Roman Reigns after WrestleMania 39:

1. Will Drew McIntyre beat Roman Reigns?

One of the most obvious choices in this scenario would be the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre. Drew was heavily rumored to be The One to defeat The One at WWE Clash at the Castle earlier this month, but WWE did not decide to pull the trigger on ending Roman’s title run, leading to McIntyre losing in front of his home crowd of the United Kingdom.

Perhaps, McIntyre might have to wait for next year after Mania season for yet another massive event where he could finally claim his destiny of winning the championship in front of the WWE Universe and defeat Roman to avenge his loss from last year.

2. Will Braun Strowman beat Roman Reigns?

The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman made a huge impact by returning to the WWE after nearly one year away from the company and decimating every in sight on his first night back.

Braun could continue his destructive ways all the up to WrestleMania season and then set his sights on Roman Reigns by challenging him to a title match and that could see The Monster end the nearly three-year (at that time) monster run of The Tribal Chief.

3. Will Karrion Kross beat Roman Reigns?

From the time Karrion Kross won the NXT championship during his time in the developmental territory, fans had begun to visualize him as a top champion on the main roster as well and since the beginning of his second coming in the WWE under Triple H’s era, he quickly inserted himself into the World title picture making his future ambitions clear.

WWE can take time to establish Kross as a legitimate star on the main roster and then have him beat Roman Reigns at any pay-per-view after WrestleMania to set in motion the Doomsday era of Karrion Kross as the World Champion.

4. Bron Breakker

The son of Rick Steiner and current NXT Champion is looking to be a promising prospect for the developmental landscape rising up to the ranks in a short span of time. Big Bad Booty nephew could replicate the success story of Roman’s arch-rival, Brock Lesnar debuting sometime after WrestleMania and becoming the No1 contender to challenge Reigns for the titles, potentially at the next big WWE pay-per-view, WWE SummerSlam.

His rise to the top could mirror a young Lesnar’s beginning who dethrone the top guy at the time (also a Samoan and Reigns cousin The Rock) and see Bron Breakker destroy Roman Reigns putting an exclamation point to his title reign and ascending to the top as the Next Big Thing.

5. Cody Rhodes

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes seems to be the frontrunner for becoming the next Undisputed Champion and winning the title in honor of his father, the late great Dusty Rhodes. Although Cody is slated to return at next year’s Royal Rumble event, a change of plans could see Cody returning the night after WrestleMania interrupting Reigns’ victory celebration over The Rock at The Show of Shows and declaring himself as next in line to challenge Reigns.

The dream match between Roman and Cody could be the final resting place for The Head of the Table’s mesmerizing title reign and the rightful crowning of Cody Rhodes as the World champion of WWE.
