WWE programming in the course of one week has seen some makeshift changes, heading full steam ahead towards its next pay-per-view, WWE Extreme Rules taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 8. So far, only one match has been made official for the event pitting WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan against her arch-nemesis Ronda Rousey for the title in an Extreme Rules match.

With the event only two weeks away and only one match announced for the card, here are 5 possible surprises we can see on this week’s edition of WWE Smackdown:
1. Shotzi and Raquel VS Damage CTRL for the tag titles receives direction on WWE SmackDown
Raquel Rodriguez found herself on the receiving end of a beatdown last week on SmackDown at the hands of Damage Ctrl after her loss to Bayley, only to be saved by the green-haired Shotzi.
Looking to get some payback of her own, this week we could see Raquel join an alliance with Shotzi as her new partner and challenge Damage Ctrl faction, the current WWE Women’s Tag Team champions IYO Sky and Dakota Kai for the titles at WWE Extreme Rules.
2. Solo turns to Sami Zayn for gold on WWE SmackDown
Last week on Smackdown, Solo Sikoa chose to allow Sami Zayn to escort him to the ring for his match against Madcap Moss for the NXT North American Championship and asked his own brothers, The Usos to step back.
This Tuesday we saw The Street Fighter relinquish his North American Title due to not being sanctioned for the title match the week before against Carmelo Hayes, building more frustrations inside Sikoa. He noted on Twitter that he never lost the title and has already set his sights on other gold in the company.
I made the NA title more valuable in a WEEK then any title reign in @WWENXT. Brought it to Smackdown with me and defended it.
Keep in mind i never lost it.AdvertisementThere is always more gold out there and i got my eyes set on it already.

A week of tensions and animosity could see the dominant faction ‘The Bloodline’ explode in their Tribal Chief Roman Reigns’ absence and watch Solo Sikoa turn to the Honorary Uce Sami Zayn to form their own alliance and challenge the Usos for the Tag Team Titles in the future in his lust for gold.
3. Braun Strowman in the Tag Team division
Ever since returning to the WWE, The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman has wrecked through the entire tag team division for weeks and weeks.
This week on Smackdown we could see all those teams align together and challenge Braun with a partner of his choosing to officially compete in the tag team division in a sanctioned WWE match.
4. Sheamus vs Gunther II
Perhaps considered one of the greatest WWE matches seen in this generation at WWE Clash at the Castle, WWE Universe could be in for a surprise with the announcement of the two titans, The Celtic Warrior Sheamus and reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther go head-to-head one more time for the prestigious title, this time in an Extreme Rules match at the namesake event, in hopes of delivering yet 5-star instant classic showdown.
5. Shayna Baszler aligns with Ronda Rousey to take down Liv Morgan
Ronda Rousey is already on a collision course with her rival Liv Morgan for the Smackdown Women’s title at Extreme Rules, but a twist in the tale could see Ronda’s former MMA partner Shayna Baszler accepting Rousey’s offer to join forces and align with her former cohort in their quest to take down Liv Morgan after the latter scored victories over the two most dominant Superstars in the history of combat sports in recent memory.
