5 Lesser Known Secrets About Former WWE Superstar Paige

When the WWE Universe looks back to the Originals in starting the Women’s Revolution in the company, which saw better opportunities, on-screen time, high-quality matches, and main events for the Female stars in the WWE, one of those names definitely is the British native Paige. Coming from a family of Wrestlers in Norwich, England, the unorthodox Superstar is one of the few names to make a mark in a short-lived WWE career.

A former two-time Women’s Champion and the youngest Divas champion of all time, Paige was one of the pioneers that led the Women’s evolution movement in the WWE that drastically changed the landscape and saw the transition of WWE Divas into Superstars.

Her memorable rise to the top was cut short due to a severe neck injury resulting in the Anti-Diva retiring the RAW after WrestleMania 34. Even after that she continued to serve in non-wrestling roles for the WWE and was recently released from the company.

Although Paige has left a legacy in the WWE that will inspire generations to come, here are the Top 5 lesser-known facts about the person behind the iconic persona, Saraya Bevis:

1. Did Paige wrestle before her birth?

While many future Superstars from esteemed backgrounds often say that wrestling is in their blood or their birthright, Paige is the only female athlete in the world to be a part of a wrestling match before entering this world.

Her mother Julia showed true heart and passion, wrestling in a match when she was 7 months pregnant with Paige, giving her daughter a distinctive accolade that is highly impossible for anyone to lay claim to.

Paige did not come from a regular household, but from a family of hard-hitting brawlers running their own wrestling promotion and bar in Britain.

While being away at times, they would leave Paige in charge as the bartender and surprisingly the bouncer to maintain decorum at the premises. She even broke a fight at the family bar by sitting on one woman and trapping the other in a headlock, displaying her rough and tough background on full display back in the day.

3. Does Paige own a coffee company?

In September 2015, Paige and her partners Bobby Schubenski and Jim Somers started their own coffee venture called The Dark Gypsy with a touch of her own persona portrayed on-screen in the form of gothic-styled coffee flavors like “Death Before Decaf” and “Better than Blood.”
