5. Thilan Samaraweera – 11 run-outs
Sri Lanka’s Thilan Samaraweera is at the fifth spot on this list. Thilan played Test cricket from 2001 to 2013. In that period, he represented the Sri Lankan Test team in 81 Tests. Samaraweera aggregated 5,462 for his nation in 132 Test innings. His batting average was 48.77.
Samaraweera had the potential to play big knocks. His highest score in Test match cricket was 231. Also, he registered 30 fifties and 14 centuries. However, he also got run-out 11 times in his career. He got run out three times each against Pakistan and West Indies.
4. Allan Border – 12 run-outs
Australian legend Allan Border achieved many milestones in his career. The Test series between India and Australia is named after him. Border played 156 Tests for Australia. He aggregated 11,174 runs for his country at an average of 50.56. Notably, Allan recorded 27 centuries in his career.
Considering he played 265 Test innings in his career, one can understand he would have had a confusion 12 times with his partners. Border got run out only a dozen times in 156 Tests. 3. Matthew Hayden – 12 run-outs
Another Australian batsman with 12 run-outs in tests is Matthew Hayden. The left-handed batsman played Test cricket from 1994 to 2009. He donned the Baggy Green in 103 Test matches. Hayden amassed 8,625 runs in 184 Test innings. His highest score in tests was 380.

2. Rahul Dravid – 13 run-outs

1. Ricky Ponting – 15 run-outs
Ricky Ponting is the only batsman in Test cricket history to lose his wicket via run-out 15 times. The former Australian captain will be remembered as one of the greatest cricket skippers of all time. He represented the Aussies in 168 Tests and batted in 287 innings. Ponting scored over 13,000 Test runs. His batting average was of 51.85 in the game’s most prolonged format.
