4 players who have hit 5 sixes in an over in IPL history

Till now, very few have hit sixes on all the balls of an over in T20s. However, in IPL, that has not happened, till now. That said, a few players have gotten very close to that. These batters have hit five sixes in an over, thus falling just one short of the milestone. On that note, here, we take a look at four players who have hit 5 sixes in an over in IPL history.

1) Chris Gayle (RCB) – 2012 (Bowler – Rahul Sharma)

Chris Gayle is the first player to attain this feat in the history of IPL. That was the time when Chris Gayle was in hot form and it was hard to stop him.

Rahul Sharma was a good bowler but it became difficult to contain Gayle. The West Indian batter hit the ball across the park and made it a memorable day for his team.

2) Rahul Tewatia (RR) – 2020 (Bowler – Sheldon Cottrell)

Rahul Tewatia is one of the players who have hit 5 sixes in an over in IPL history. Tewatia was struggling in the chase before he switched on the monster mode.

He took apart Sheldon Cottrell and ensured that RR could achieve the target that seemed impossible a few moments ago. This happens to be one of the greatest stories in IPL.

3) Ravindra Jadeja (CSK) – 2021 (Bowler – Harshal Patel)

Harshal Patel was in good form but Ravindra Jadeja had other views of the proceedings. It was the final over of the first innings and Harshal was not at his best.

There were also a couple of extras and Jaddu took a complete toll of the cricketer. Later, with the ball, as well, Jadeja broke the back of RCB.

4) Rinku Singh (KKR) – 2023 (Bowler – Yash Dayal)

Rinku Singh is the latest to join this list of players who have hit 5 sixes in an over in IPL history. KKR needed 29 runs in the final over against the Gujarat Titans.

The speciality of this knock is that it came in a chase and that too in the final over. It would be a big task for anyone else to replicate this feat in the future.
