4 Indian Bowlers Who Might Get An Opportunity If Deepak Chahar Is Ruled Out Of 2022 T20 World Cup

In a disappointing development for the Indian cricket fans, one of the country’s top bowlers Deepak Chahar has picked up a back injury while recovering from his quadriceps tear at the National Cricket Academy. He was expected to be available for the Chennai Super Kings from April 25, but the latest report states that Chahar could now be out for four months.

The report has further claimed that the fast bowler is likely to miss the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled to happen in Australia later this year. In case Deepak is unavailable, the Indian team management will look to give opportunities to the following four fast bowlers in the T20 World Cup year:

1. Umesh Yadav has been one of the top Indian bowlers in IPL 2022

Experienced fast bowler Umesh Yadav has returned to form in IPL 2022. Playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders, he has picked up the early wickets in the powerplay overs. If Umesh continues in the same vein, he could make a comeback.

2. Umran Malik is one of the fastest Indian bowlers right now

The wildcard in this race will be Umran Malik. The Sunrisers Hyderabad star has impressed one and all with his pace. If the bowling staff works with him on his line and length, Malik can be a superstar in the future.

3. Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed has been a wicket-taking bowler for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. Plus, he is a left-arm fast bowler, so he will offer variety in the team if selected to play in T20I matches.

4. T Natarajan

Speaking of left-arm fast bowlers, T Natarajan will also be in the race to make it to the squad. Natarajan was fantastic in Australia last year. He has bowled well in IPL 2022 so far. It will be interesting to see if the SRH pacer makes the cut.
