The 2023 ODI World Cup would be the perfect platform for IPL teams to scout their overseas talents. Having happened in India, the tournament performance of some players would give an idea to teams on how these players could do in the IPL. RCB is a team that would want to improve the squad for the next season. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three World Cup stars whom RCB might target for IPL 2024.
1) Travis Head
Travis Head was the hero for Australia in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup. This performance would help him in getting a good IPL contract.
RCB would ideally like to have the cricketer. While he can open the batting, he can also play in the middle-order. Travis has played for RCB before and is also a decent spinner apart from being a part-time wicket-keeper. All these would help RCB and hence, they can target him.
2) Gerald Coetzee
Gerald Coetzee is one of the World Cup stars whom RCB might target for IPL 2024. One of the best young pacers of the tournament was Coetzee.
Apart from pace, the 23-year-old impressed many with his variations and knack of picking frequent wickets. RCB needs some good pacers and therefore, they can target the South African speedster. He would be a good option to have alongside the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Mohammed Siraj.
3) Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra was a revelation in the World Cup. He did well at the top of the order at most venues in India. Being a Bengaluru-boy, RCB might be desperate to sign the cricketer.
While he improves the balance of the squad, Rachin would also be a player whom RCB can invest for the future. He would be a suitable replacement for Faf du Plessis at the top of the order apart from becoming the second-choice spinner.
