3 teams with the weakest spin attack for IPL 2024

There are at least three venues in the IPL that need a good spin attack to pose a challenge to the home team. Of course, variety is needed in any bowling attack and it is the spin department that must operate in the middle overs. Yet, some of the franchises failed to do well here. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams with the weakest spin attack for IPL 2024.

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore (Karn Sharma and Mayank Dagar)

RCB probably has the weakest spin attack in IPL 2024. In fact, if you take a look at the history of the franchise, IPL 2024 could be the edition in which RCB has the weakest spin unit.

Having released Wanindu Hasaranga and traded Shahbaz Ahmed, RCB did not buy good replacements for them. Karn Sharma can be expensive while Mayank Dagar is inexperienced. Glenn Maxwell might have to step up with the ball in this franchise.

2) Mumbai Indians (Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya)

Although MI had to focus only on the spin department, they failed to add a good option to the franchise. Mohammad Nabi is more of a backup to Tim David and anyway, he will not add great value to the spin department.

Last season, Piyush Chawla did well. However, it would be hard to expect him to repeat that every season. Kumar Kartikeya had an ordinary domestic season, as well.

3) Punjab Kings (Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar)

Punjab Kings is also one of the teams with the weakest spin attack for IPL 2024. Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar on paper look to be a solid spin attack.

However, the duo has failed to add impact in the last seasons. Hence, Punjab Kings finds itself on this list. If Rahul Chahar does not do well, he might be dropped from the XI.
