When it comes to batting depth, the importance has slightly reduced with the Impact Player rule. Nevertheless, if the batters at the top know that they have a long support, they could be more free in their minds. Earlier, a good No.8 meant a good batting depth but now, it is a good No.9. 1) Chennai Super Kings
In the past, as well, CSK has gone ahead with this strategy of having a long batting depth. This time around, as well, they will have good batters until No.9 or even No.10.
With the addition of Shardul Thakur, the batting looks sorted even after No.8. While Deepak Chahar is a good batter, as well, if Mitchell Santner plays ahead of Maheesh Theekshana, the depth would further increase.

3) Mumbai Indians
While a few teams have a good bowling all-rounder, it also depends a lot on the combination and the skill of the player. Here is where an all-rounder like Gerald Coetzee ticks the box perfectly, giving a solid batting depth to MI.
MI also has the option of playing Mohammad Nabi and Shreyas Gopal as an Impact Player. This will further increase the batting depth of the team.
