As per reports, RTM may not be available for the franchises in the IPL 2025 Auctions. It is said that only five retentions could be allowed for each team. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could benefit the most if there is no RTM for IPL 2025 Auctions.
1) Punjab Kings
As per reports, in the owners’ meeting, Punjab Kings did not want even a single retention or possibly one retention. With this in mind, you could say that PBKS will be happy if no RTM is allowed for each team.
This way, they can buy players whom they need from other teams. At the same time, since PBKS could have the most money in the purse, they could have this benefit, as well.
2) Chennai Super Kings
CSK is one of the teams which could benefit the most if there is no RTM for IPL 2025 Auctions. If you take a look at CSK’s squad, they would have ideally retained only six players, with the last one being MS Dhoni. Hence, asking them to retain just five may not pose a problem for them.
It is only the other slots that the franchise wanted to improve. Now, with no hindrances at the auctions, they could have a clear list of targets for the other spots. This way, no RTM is a big news for the franchise.
3) Lucknow Super Giants
Probably barring Nicholas Pooran and a few uncapped cricketers, LSG would not have retained a lot of players. In this regard, having access to talented cricketers from other franchises is a boon for LSG.
Now, LSG can focus on building a strong core that can serve the side for the future. With the likes of Zaheer Khan at the helm now, we can expect some strong moves by the franchise.
