KL Rahul and his relation relationship with Lucknow Super Giants seem to be going in the wrong direction. One of the reasons for this is also his performance. It would not be a surprise if LSG released the star cricketer. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams that must target KL Rahul in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions if LSG releases him.
1) Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB is probably the only franchise that can offer captaincy to KL Rahul. The rest of the squads seem to have their options covered in this regard.
More than this, KL Rahul has always expressed his love for RCB and the fans also love him back. For a player whose T20 career kickstarted at RCB, it would be a return to finish the unfinished business. RCB would also get a proper wicket-keeper with KL.
2) Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans must try hard for a good wicket-keeper in the coming years. If KL Rahul is available, he could be the right replacement for Wriddhiman Saha.
It would not be a bad idea for GT to give the captaincy to KL Rahul for at least one or two years before Shubman Gill takes over. That said, this is unlikely to happen.
3) Chennai Super Kings
CSK is one of the teams that must target KL Rahul in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions if LSG releases him. With MS Dhoni likely to retire, CSK would scout for wicket-keeping options in the next auctions.
KL Rahul would be the best possible option for CSK. More than his skills, CSK needs star power after MS Dhoni retires and KL Rahul offers that to the franchise. Plus, he also fits in the side as either an opener of a middle-order batter. It is just that he may not get captaincy.
