Former India cricketer Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from all forms of the game. This now allows him to explore various global T20 Leagues. He has already signed up for the upcoming Road Safety World Series. Raina reportedly also has offers from South Africa and UAE. Both these newly-formed leagues will target Raina because the left-handed batter has a massive fanbase. A popular Indian cricketer in action could bring a lot of viewership from India, which would directly translate to revenue. SA20 League has its auction scheduled on September 19th. If Raina has registered for it, most teams will look to hire the player. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams that might target the recently retired Suresh Raina in the SA20 League.

1) Johannesburg Super Kings
Owned by the owners of Chennai Super Kings, Joburg Super Kings would surely be in the hunt for Raina. Raina’s relationship with CSK is a long one and that is well known to most. In IPL 2022 Auctions, CSK decided to not bid for Raina. This decision met with mixed reactions, with most of them being critical of the move. However, CSK can correct that now.
Having already hired the likes of Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali, Raina can be slotted in to form an experienced batting line-up. It needs to be seen if the management would think in this direction.
2) MI Cape Town

MI Cape Town is one of the teams that might target Suresh Raina in the SA20 League. Mumbai Indians are known for big-name signings. Hence, they can target Raina for the first season of SA20.
MI Cape Town already has a strong core. However, there is a slot available for a left-handed middle-order batter and a skipper. Here is where MI can come in and sign Raina.
3) Pretoria Capitals
The owners of Delhi Capitals would also be keen to make a statement signing. So far, they have hired only Anrich Nortje as the capped player. Hence, there is a lot of scope for new signings.
Raina will add experience to the line-up and could also be an option to lead the franchise. Hence, the Pretoria franchise might target to add the player to its roster.
