Shardul Thakur is one of the biggest names who will go under the hammer at IPL 2024 Auctions. Although his T20 game has dropped down a bit, he still has value as a domestic bowling all-rounder. There would be quite a few teams that might target the Mumbai cricketer. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams that could target Shardul Thakur for IPL 2024.
1) Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB has released its entire bowling attack. They will surely be under pressure to buy some good Indian bowlers to aid the likes of Siraj. Shardul would surely be one of them. In fact, there were rumours that they were looking at a trade deal for him.
At least, Shardul would give good batting depth to RCB. He can be used as a middle-overs pacer, although his role in Chinnaswamy as a bowler may not be influential. Nevertheless, as an India player, RCB will require him.
2) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG would need an Indian pacer who could add experience to the side. This is needed after they released Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals. Shardul would be a good option for them.
The team might also need some batting depth before the next season. Therefore, they can target Shardul. He would give some variety to the bowling attack, as well, which comprises the likes of Mark Wood and Mohsin Khan.
3) Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians is also a part of this list of teams that could target Shardul Thakur for IPL 2024. MI might need an option apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Madhwal in the Indian pace attack. Being a local man, they might go for Shardul.
He would also add value in the lower middle-order to give depth to the Mumbai batting. This might give further freedom for the other batters to express themselves more freely.
