3 teams that can target Jofra Archer for IPL 2024 if Mumbai Indians release him

When Mumbai Indians signed Jofra Archer, many felt that it would be the beginning of an unstoppable pace attack. However, the franchise is yet to field Jofra and Bumrah together. Moreover, Jofra has not been at his best and is also getting injured frequently. The 5-time winners could consider releasing the player and investing on someone available for most of the season. On that note, here, we take a look at three teams that can target Jofra Archer for IPL 2024 if Mumbai Indians release him.

1) Rajasthan Royals

It was for RR that Jofra played in the past. It might actually not be a surprise if the winners of IPL 2008 make a move for their former cricketer.

The likes of Jason Holder did not do well for RR in the role of the second overseas pacer. Even Trent Boult was not effective in a few games. Jofra’s inclusion might solve this issue for the franchise.

2) Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the teams that can target Jofra Archer for IPL 2024 if Mumbai Indians release him. They hardly used an overseas pacer despite having the likes of Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson.

If the franchise needs someone to penetrate further into the opposition batting line-up, Jofra would be an option. At peak fitness, he would be a great acquisition for the franchise.

3) Gujarat Titans

GT used the likes of Alzarri Joseph and Josh Little as the overseas pacers in IPL 2023. It needs to be noted that they are not exactly established at the international level. If they are targeting another enforcer and if Jofra is available, they should take a risk on him.
