In recent seasons, Chennai Super Kings have been very good when it comes to giving chances to youngsters. However, IPL 2024 was not great in this regard. Barring Sameer Rizvi, not many got an opportunity. This is despite some of the experienced players not doing well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three talented players who did not get a single game for CSK in IPL 2024.
1) Rajvardhan Hangargekar
Rajvardhan Hangargekar is one of the talented players who did not get a single game for CSK in IPL 2024. He played a few games in IPL 2023 and was pretty impressive.
In IPL 2024, CSK had a lot of injury issues in the pace department. The likes of Deepak Chahar also did not show good form. Yet, the Maharashtra youngster failed to get a single game for the franchise in the season.
2) Nishant Sindhu
With the run in domestic cricket that he had, it was expected that CSK would hand a debut to Nishant. The management would have also had an eye on the future and could have used this opportunity to audition for the role of Ravindra Jadeja’s successor.
However, CSK could not afford to provide a single game for the talented cricketer. He is now likely to be released if there is a Mega Auction. This could come back to haunt CSK in the future.
3) Shaik Rasheed
The likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Sameer Rizvi struggled with the bat at various times in IPL 2024. Yet, CSK completely backed them and did not allow other youngsters into the playing XI.
May be, trying a player like Rasheed could have been a good idea. He is a top wicket-keeper and would have even helped CSK judge him before they scout for Dhoni’s replacement. However, the Andhra Pradesh man did not get a chance.
