With the introduction of two new teams in the IPL, many thought that more youngsters would get an opportunity. While that has happened, the dynamics are such that some of the talented youngsters still fail to get a chance in the playing XI. It could be the case in the upcoming season, as well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three talented capped Indian youngsters who could warm the bench in IPL 2024.
1) R Sai Kishore – Gujarat Titans
Despite doing well in IPL 2022 and helping the franchise win the trophy, R Sai Kishore spent a lot of time on the bench in IPL 2023. Noor Ahmed was doing well and the management did not want to disturb the combination.
Sai recently made his India debut at the Asian Games and had a good run. However, yet, he could remain on the bench in GT as the management might go with the same strategy.
2) Chetan Sakariya – Kolkata Knight Riders
Chetan Sakariya is one of the talented capped Indian youngsters who could warm the bench in IPL 2024. The Saurashtra youngster has not played a lot of cricket recently due to an injury.
At maximum, KKR could pick three pacers, with Andre Russell being the third. Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc will frontline the pace attack. Sakariya could find it hard to get opportunities in this team as Vaibhav Arora is also ahead of him on the pecking order.
3) Kuldeep Sen – Rajasthan Royals
Kuldeep Sen made his India debut but was not able to cement his place in the playing XI. With the arrival of Avesh Khan at RR, things will get harder form him.
Avesh is a similar bowler to Kuldeep and will get the first preference. Of course, there are also Prasidh Krishna and Navdeep Saini in the setup. Hence, Kuldeep could warm the bench a lot.
