3 surprising options RCB could consider for their next wicket-keeper

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s next big challenge will be to zero in on their replacement for Dinesh Karthik. It is an extremely tough hole to fill. There are very few options available in the market, especially after most top targets are retained by their respective players. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three surprising options RCB could consider for their next wicket-keeper.

1) Vishnu Vinod

It would have been a breakout season for Vishnu Vinod had he been fit. Harvik Desai replaced him at Mumbai Indians after the Kerala keeper was ruled out for the season.

Age-wise, he might not be the right fit but profile-wise, he is a good option. He is someone who can bat in the lower middle-order. He also has good experience and has played for IPL before. Hence, he is on this list.

2) Abishek Porel

Abishek Porel is one of the surprising options RCB could consider for their next wicket-keeper. The Anuj Rawat experiment did not come off for RCB. Since they need a left-hander in the middle-order, they can target someone like Porel.

Although he likes to play at the top, he has shown skills of excelling in the death overs. Yes, he could be a risky investment but if he is not retained by Delhi, a number of teams, including RCB could be behind him.

3) Quinton de Kock

Considering his age and form, QDK will be a very bold choice for RCB. However, he may not be a bad option, considering what RCB needs at the top of the order.

Ideally, to replace Faf du Plessis, Will Jacks is already there. But, it is hard to find a middle-order batter and keeper like DK. Instead, RCB could slot in QDK at the top and ask Cameron Green to operate at No.5. This way, RCB would also get a left-hander in the top-order.
