WWE is rapidly approaching its first Premium Live Event for May, WWE Backlash France in one week. However, just three weeks later, the company would produce another PLE in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, titled King and Queen of the Ring.
The event in Saudi Arabia will see the crowning of a new King and Queen of the Ring with the tournament beginning on RAW and SmackDown as soon as next week.
Speaking about the Men’s side, some competitors have already thrown their names in the hat to compete in the King of the Ring tournament. The prestigious accolade has been seen as a launchpad for multiple stars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, and Bret Hart to ascend to the next level.
So here are the top three prospects to clinch the King of the Ring crown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:
1. Gunther
Gunther had a remarkable run as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, making him the longest-reigning title holder of all time. Following the end of his title reign at the hands of Sami Zayn, The Ring General returned to RAW to announce himself for the King of the Ring tournament.
“Already the general of the ring, soon to be King of the Ring”

Gunther made his intentions clear to make another huge impact after his spectacular run with the Intercontinental title, making him a top viable candidate to become the next King.
2. Drew McIntyre
The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre achieved his long-awaited glory moment at WrestleMania 40 by winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
However, his celebrations were ruined at the hands of his heated rival, CM Punk with McIntyre losing the title in less than 5 minutes to Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank cash-in. The former WWE champion could bounce back in a huge way by winning the King of the Ring tournament and earning a title shot for the PLE succeeding Saudi event, Clash at the Castle taking place in his home county, Scotland.
3. Sheamus
Sheamus made a huge impact by making his triumphant return to RAW after eight months on the sidelines due to neck issues.

Already displaying his banger performances, The Celtic Warrior could solidify his comeback in a big way by winning the King of the Ring tournament, making him a two-time winner after the WWE Hall of Famer, Bret “The Hitman” Hart.
