In the past, almost every franchise had at least one or two players from South Africa. However, the Rainbow Nation does not have too many representations now. Nevertheless, there are players such as Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada and Quinton de Kock, who form a part of their team’s core. That said, there are some youngsters coming through now. The likes of Dewald Brevis and Gerald Coetzee are making waves. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three South African players who could be replacement signings in IPL 2024.

1) Kwena Maphaka

Kwena Maphaka is one of the South African players who could be replacement signings in IPL 2024. He recently took part in the U19 World Cup and was clearly the best player.

At such a young age, he already has the attributes to trouble the seniors. The left-arm pacer can be a solid investment for the future and hence, a few teams could be interested in him.

2) Lizaad Williams

The South African cricketer had a good tournament in the recent SA20 competition. He was one of the best players in the tournament.

Representing the Joburg Super Kings, he took some key wickets. If any team is looking for a backup pacer, he could be the right choice.

3) Keshav Maharaj

Foreign spinners are usually not preferred in the tournament. However, there are teams such as RCB and MI which do not have a single spinner who is currently playing international cricket. This is a weakness for such teams.

If such franchises want to hire a foreign spinner, they could think of someone like Keshav Maharaj. He is experienced and is in good form. He was the best spinner in the recent SA20 League. Hence, the player’s name is on this list of cricketers who could enter IPL 2024 as replacement signings.
